Sackville Sixth Form

At Sackville, we are proud of the community feel of the overall school and, I’m pleased to say, of the sixth form itself.

We were delighted with the examination results from last summer, which show that our year 12 and 13 students made progress well above the national average, a long running trend that we always try hard to maintain.

We currently have over 370 students in the sixth form, most having continued from year 11 but a significant number (10% or more) having joined us from other institutions. Our reputation ensures that we have students from outside Sackville.

Our students study a wide range of courses (AS, A Level, BTEC) in an expansive array of subject areas. We will always seek to accommodate the needs of existing and potential students in terms of what they can study and how. It is certainly our belief that being flexible in what we provide and in terms of how we deal with students is of paramount importance.

We have very high expectations of our students and we will apply pressure to ensure that they do the best that they can. In addition to this we have a support network of personal tutors and other pastoral staff that are on hand to assist students and give advice, when needed.

The sixth form students are true role models, whether working with and coaching the younger students, representing the school in town and international events or acting as ambassadors at open and parents’ evenings. They have many opportunities to take leadership roles and to participate and a range voluntary roles, whether at local schools, charitable enterprises and organised events through school.
